FAQ
What is the standard lead time for flexible circuits?
4 weeks for prototype or production quantities
What is the standard lead time for printed circuit boards?
2 weeks for prototypes, 3 weeks for production quantities
Are expedited lead times available?
Yes in most, but not all cases
What is the minimum trace width available for flexible circuits?
Typical minimum is .004” trace/.004” space
What is the minimum trace width available for printed circuit boards?
Typical minimum is .003” trace/.003” space
How much current is a flexible circuit capable of carrying?
As much as a traditional printed circuit board. From as little as a few milliamps to several amps
Can I attach components to flexible circuits?
Yes. Components may be added to flexible circuits as easily as they are added to traditional printed circuit boards.
What is the maximum layer count for flexible circuits?
Flexible Circuit Layer Count: 1 – 6
What is the maximum layer count for printed circuit boards?
Printed Circuit Board Layer Count: 1 – 20
Can I attach heat-sinks to flexible circuits?
Yes. Attachment methods would be with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) or thermal epoxy
What materials are flexible circuits made of?
There are two main materials: Polyimide and Polyester. They are available in many thicknesses to accommodate every design.
